MERCEDES-BENZ A180 USER REVIEWS
The latest incarnation of the A Class is a beautiful machine to behold, NO doubt about that! It looks great. The inside looks cool too, and with the white seat and door inserts of mine, it has a refreshing air compared to the depressing /Death/ black interior of most cars on the market today. It drives well in terms of performance, who would have thought it was only a 1.6l ? There is a BUT to this car though, and that is the ride. My car has the /comfort/ suspension but if this is comfort, what do they consider to be uncomfortable? I feel every little bump and ripple in the road and when you go over the (sunken) manhole covers that are sprinkled like confetti on Adelaide's roads, you are in for one ROUGH ride! And this from a marque like MB?
There are some other minor criticisms too. The ventilation controls are so low down and difficult to see that changing modes while driving is virtually impossible apart from adjusting the fan speed. And the parking brake.....well....why is it down on the lower right of the dash board out of sight and reach? If it was fully automatic like my friends Citroen C4 it wouldn't matter, but you have to operate this one manually unless you remember to use the (cool) HOLD feature with the brake peddle before turning the ignition off. A placement in the centre console like others would be more useful and safer!
So this is a really good car but has some flaws. It looks GREAT, drives impressively in terms of performance and has a great list of features. If only it was /comfortable/ and a bit more attention was paid to the ergonomics of the cabin, then this would be a true 5 Star car for me.
