Gordon Murray Joins Lotus

by Brad Leach - 01/09/11

Brit Gordon Murray, one of the most acclaimed Formula One and road car designers of our time, has joined Lotus Cars.

The man responsible for the Brabham F1 fan car, a myriad of championship-winning McLarens and the first McLaren MP4 road car joins auto industry leaders Bob Lutz, Tom Purves, Frank Tuch and Prof. Dr. Burkhard Goschel on the Lotus Advisory Council.

Ironically in his time in Formula One, Team Lotus was a major rival for the Brabham and McLaren teams for whom Gordon Murray was working.

Most recently his company, Gordon Murray Design, has been developing new environmentally-friendly automotive technology called iStream which has lead to the creation of two compact city cars – T.25 petrol and T.27 electric.
