Fiat 500L For Geneva

by Brad Leach - 03/02/12

Fiat has released the first photos of its new 500L model which will have its global unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show ahead of European launch late this year.

The five-door hatchback is a new addition to the Fiat 500 range which already includes Abarth and Cabrio models. Not surprisingly, the ‘L’ stands for ‘large’.

And while Fiat 500 enthusiasts may lament this latest addition – Fiat says the 500L delivers MPV-like passenger space and SUV-like driving dynamics – the company says the newcomer reflects the changing needs of customers who want a Fiat 500 suitable for new experiences.

Fiat 500L will be offered with two petrol engines (1.4-litre and TwinAir) as well as the 1.3 MultiJet II turbo-diesel.

So the Fiat 500 is growing up, but what doesn’t change in the new 500L is that special Italian style (even though it’s made in the Fiat factory in Kragujevac, Serbia).
