Ahead of the Geneva Motor Show debut of the racy Nissan 370Z Nismo next week, the Japanese giant will tomorrow announce a major expansion of its high-performance arm.
Perfect timing for Australia with the Nismo-developed Altimas set to line-up on the starting grid for the Clipsal V8 Supercar season-opening race in Adelaide.
Nissan-Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn will make the announcement as he opens Nismo’s new HQ near Yokohama, Japan. Nissan has made substantial investments in preparation of the ramped-up Nismo operation with the high-performance division relocating from its current location in Omori to the new facility which boasts extra technology and a retail outlet including an eight-car showroom.
At the Japanese event, Nissan will also reveal future motorsport plans for Nismo.
The first Nismo road car, the Juke Nismo has been on0-sale in Europe for a few months and will shortly arrive in North American showrooms.
