Peugeot 508 RXH Could Be Set For Australia

Peugeot Australia has hinted that new Peugeot 508 RXH could be coming to Australia.


The Peugeot 508 RXH is available with two engines choices overseas the 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel with 133kW and 400Nm that has a claimed fuel economy of 4.6 litres per 100 kilometres; the second engines is a hybrid 2.0-litre diesel with 120kW/300Nm paired with a 27kW/200Nm electric motor, and sips just 4.1L/100km.

Peugeot’s Australian spokesperson Dimitri Andreatidis told CarShowroom.com.au “ the Peugeot 508 RXH is being considered for Australia and is being reviewed under the brands hybrid case study.”

If Australia is to take the Peugeot 508 RXH we would most likely receive the diesel only version, which might allow the 508 RXH to compete better on price locally.

Just like the Subaru Outback and Skoda Outdoor the Peugeot 508 RXH takes the existing wagon and increases the ground clearance to give it an all-road stance and ads some extra body kit including skid plates which allow the RXH the versatility to go further afield.

In Europe the Peugeot 508 RXH features LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights and LED fog lights, half-leather trim, electrically adjustable seats and panoramic glass roof.

Pricing in Europe is also matched very closely to the Peugeot 508 GT, which in Australian is around $55,000
