Italy's new sports saloon is now closer than ever.
Today, Fiat-Chrysler Automotive (FCA) Australia confirmed prices for the 2017 Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifoglio Verde (or QV), the most hotly anticipated Alfa Romeo in recent history. Designed to bring the fight onto the BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C63 S, the Giulia QV has already found a large number of fans Down Under as a previous report detailed that no less than 100 orders for the hotter-than-hot Giulia have been recorded by the brand.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia QV will be available in Australia with a price tag of $143,900 (before ORC). This sees the hot Alfa sat right between the German contenders, with the M3 coming in at $139,615 and the C63 S at $155,615, both before on-road costs.
Another report has already detailed the specifications for the range, which was made public late last year. Reported to hit the showroom floor next month, the range-topping Giulia QV is motivated by a Ferrari-fettled 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which manages to squeeze out 375kW and 600Nm, and sounds like an absolute monster. Presently, the Giulia QV is rated as the fastest production saloon to lap the infamous Nurburgring, beating its counterparts from Stuttgart and Munich.
The Giulia QV also leaves most cars for dead in the century sprint, with the Italian beauty managing to complete it in just 3.9-seconds. And it’s not all about speed either, wth the Giulia bagging the distinction of offering the highest adult occupant protection rating ever managed in EuroNCAP regulatory testing.
The Oz lineup will consist of just four models, those being the Giulia, the Giulia Super, and the Giulia Veloce, and of course, the Giula QV. We wait now with bated breath, for darling Giulia.
