Ahead of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz A-class launch next month Mercedes-Benz Australia has announced the new generation A-class will start from $37,200 (+orc).

The 2016 model range will starts with the entry level A180 powered by a 1.6 L turbocharged engine that uses 5.8 L/100km.
Key specifications include 17” wheels, Garmin® MAP PILOT navigation, Blind Spot Assist, reversing camera, KEYLESS Start, DYNAMIC SELECT and a Diamond Grille in black as standard.
The A200 is powered by the same 1.6 L turbocharged engine but has be tuned to produce 115 kW of power and 250 Nm. Ove the A180 the A200 recives 18” wheels, a Mirror Package and sports seats with lumber support.
The A200d shares the specs as the A200 but the 2.1L diesel engine produces 100kW and 300Nm whilst sipping only just 4.2 L/100km of fuel
The sportier all wheel drive 250 Sport 4MATIC produces 160 kW of power as is matched to a 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission. It comes with 18” AMG wheels, AMG Bodystyling, AMG Ride Control suspension, LED fixed headlamps, KEYLESS-GO, a panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting with 12 colours.
Sitting out front is the Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC that can sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds and produces a maximum output of 280 kW and a peak torque of 475 Nm. Mercedes has added the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package which they claim sharpens up the vehicle. Part of the package is mechanical front axle locking differential which helps in prove traction when you are driving flat out in the twisty roads.
The Mercedes-AMG A 45 gets 19” AMG wheels, AMG Performance Seats, AMG Performance Exhaust, AMG DYNAMIC SELECT (including Race Mode), COMAND Navigation, Harman Kardon DISTRONIC PLUS and Heated Front Seats as standard.
