Production of the Lexus SC 430 has ended with some 690 of the hard top convertible sold in Australia during its almost 10-year life span.
Simultaneously, Lexus has also wrapped-up manufacture of its 4.3-litre V8 engine.
Lexus says the end of SC 430 production represents a transition for Toyota's premium brand - the two-door convertible was the launch pad of the company's L-finesse styling and innovation direction which underpins its current and future models.
That new direction will be headline news shortly when Lexus launches its LFA sports supercar and the hybrid-powered CT 200h compact hatchback.
'SC 430 has played a significant role in Lexus' history, paving the way for models such as IS250C and IS F,' revealed Lexus Australia Chief Executive Tony Cramb.
