Starring alongside the all-new Mondeo on the Ford stand in Paris was the new Fiesta which goes on-sale in Europe early next year. Again Ford Australia is still finalizing local details.
Styling is certainly sharper and brings the Fiesta into line with Ford’s current global cues. The bonnet features a power dome and the laser-cut headlights go LED on upscale European models.
In Europe, new Ford Fiesta buyers will be spoilt for choice in the engine department. The range includes two versions of the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine (74kW and 92kW), 1.0-litre direct-injection petrol (59kW), 1.5-litre Duratorq turbo-diesel (55kW), 1.6-litre Duratorq turbo-diesel (70kW0, 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol (77kW) and two versions of the 1.25-litre petrol engine (44kW and 62kW).
Underneath, new Ford Fiesta rides on a new platform and new suspension system which Ford says brings new levels of refinement and driving dynamics (we reckon the current Fiesta is one of the best in the driving dynamics department so the newcomer has big shoes to fill).
