At the Pulsar hatchback media introduction, Nissan executives bristled when asked about the possibility of a sporty SSS model Pulsar sedan. We know from Nissan dealer sources this is a desired car and there seems little doubt a sporty Pulsar sedan (like the ones your CarShowroom correspondent drove in the 1990s) is on the horizon.
Nissan did confirm we’ll be seeing more of the turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engine which powers the SSS Pulsar hatchback – first-up in the funky Juke crossover which will arrive later this year.
Already introduced by Nissan this year are the MY13 Micra, MY13 Z and the ‘Black Edition’ GT-R.
Next here is an update for the Nissan Murano luxury mid-size SUV.
And before we head for summer holidays, expect the all-new Pathfinder SUV and all-new Altima sedan (the latter to replace the unloved Maxima).
This year is a Tokyo Motor Show year and while Nissan Australia has not yet heard the plans for Tokyo, ‘Crystal-Balling’ we wouldn’t be surprised if the all-new X-TRAIL was penciled in for its global debut.
