Subaru Australia is guaranteed a significant sales boost with the launch of an automatic transmission in 2011 Impreza WRX STI sedans and hatchbacks.
“We’ve had increasing enquiries about an auto over the last two years and we’re delighted to be able to deliver what a significant number of customers have requested,” revealed Subaru Australia’s Managing Director, Nick Senior.
Mr Senior added the Impreza WRX STI will continue with its six-speed manual transmission and fans should expect the optional five-speed auto to also reflect the performance and engineering values of STI to produce a “fantastic driver’s car that will expand its appeal to a wider audience.”
The revised Impreza WRX STI lineup goes on-sale locally late this year and Subaru STI specialist retailers are already taking orders even though Australian pricing and specification hasn’t been finalized.
