Suzuki Australia has completed the lineup of its Kizashi mid-size sedan range with the launch of the all-wheel-drive 'Sport' model.
Priced at $39,990, the 'Sport' model provides a clear distinction between the Kizashi and its major rival - the Hyundai i45. In fact, the all-wheel-drive Suzuki Kizashi looms as a threat for the acclaimed Subaru Liberty sedan.
Kizashi Sport drives all four wheels via an all-new version of Suzuki's intelligent all-wheel-drive system (i-AWD). Drawing data from the ESP system, the Kizashi Sport adjusts drive between front and rear wheels and also brakes individual wheels to counteract oversteer and understeer.
The 131kW/230Nm, 2.4-litre, four-cylinder engine drives through a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with steering wheel paddle shifters for sequentially manual changes.
Externally, Kizashi Sport is distinguished by 10-spoke alloy wheels, a mesh grille, sports front bumper, side skirts and a bootlid spoiler. Its sports suspension delivers a ride height 10mm lower than standard Kizashi models.
Inside, the Kizashi Sport is based on the XLS specification, but gains a unique sports steering wheel, chrome trim accents and integrated Bluetooth connectivity.
