Volkswagen’s all-new Passat range has been launched in Europe headlined by a stunning new twin-turbo diesel engine good for 176kW.
Styling is evolutionary although clearly Volkswagen has taken the Passat up-market both outside and inside.
Size is up, with the all-model affording a wheelbase of 2790mm, and weight is down by some 85kgs.
LED tail-lights are standard and up-scale models score LED headlights.
Inside, the upgraded interior looks the part of high-end European models feature a digital instrument cluster and centre screens in either 6.0 or 8.5-inch sizes.
The all-new Volkswagen Passat sits on the German giant’s lauded MQB scalable platform architecture.
No word from Volkswagen Group Australia on local details or timing or whether we’ll see the Passat GTE Hybrid which was unveiled last week at the Paris Motor Show.
